Who we are

We are Czechs and Slovaks, organized in the Czech and Slovak Juche Idea Study Group, founded on May 3, 2022 and following the long tradition of Czechoslovak-Korean, Czech-Korean and Slovak-Korean relations.

The study group is not recognized, let alone controlled, by the embassy or other authorities of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. Unconditional and complete agreement with the policy of the DPRK is not a condition of membership.

The website of the study group is not created, controlled or influenced by the DPRK, and texts not taken from the DPRK media may not correspond to its political line. Číst dál →

Statement on the shameful attacks by US imperialists and their henchmen against the DPRK

The Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association and the Czech Group for the Study and Materialization of the Juche Idea are outraged by the escalation of hostilities by US imperialists and their henchmen against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, which is a thorn in the side of its enemies as a dignified independent socialist state.

The US imperialists have failed to fulfill any of their promises in negotiations with the DPRK’s top leadership, and by continuing pressure on unilateral disarmament and clinging to illegal sanctions, they have long thwarted the efforts of all progressive people across Korea and abroad for just peace on the Korean Peninsula and independent peaceful reunification.

After a short period of hypocrisy, the south Korean authorities once again act as a faithful puppet clique of their American masters and carry out other provocative joint military exercises against their compatriots with their occupying mercenaries. Číst dál →

Contribution of Comrade Alexander Velitš to the online seminar of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea

Despite the high workload, vice-chairman of the Paektu Czech-Korean Friendship Association Comrade Alexander Velitš sent his contribution to the international electronic seminar of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea, which held on October 24. The following is the full text:

It can be said that the last decade in Europe has been matked by chaos and social crisis. There is also talk of the so-called crisis of democracy. But what exactly is democracy? Democracy means the rule of the people, but if we look at the practice in capitalist countries, they are ruled by those who have money, then there is some „middle class“ and finally, there is a group of people living in poverty.

Democracy itself is not bad, but it must be the real government of the people and not the bourgeois theatre which pretend like democracy. The fact that a socialist regime is more democratic than the capitalist one is also evidenced by the fact that an ordinary worker or peasant gets into the council much easier than into the capitalist parliament. Because in the capitalist parliament, there are often people who do not know the normal conditions in society, they are detached from the people and are not able to react flexibly to social events, to fulfill the will of the citizens. Speech of comrade Alexander Velitš at the European Seminar on the Juche Idea

Dear Comrades,

a few days ago we celebrated 71 years since the establishment of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. I am very pleased that last year I was able to visit the DPRK and see the grand and beautiful celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Republic.

The founding of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea 71 years ago was the culmination of a more than 20-year-long struggle of the Korean people led by the great leader Comrade Kim Il Sung against the Japanese occupiers. Statement of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association on the meeting of top representatives of the DPRK and the Russian Federation

Prague, April 27 Juche 108 (2019) – The Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association  welcomed the news of the successful meeting and talks of top representatives of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Russian Federation, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission Comrade Kim Jong Un and President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

Another of a number of successful foreign journeys by the Respected Comrade Supreme Leader decisively demonstrates the growing position of socialist Korea on the international political scene and is a continuation of only true foreign policy on the principles of full equality, independence, mutual respect, non-interference and mutual benefit. Comrade Jaroslav Kafka passed away

Prague, April 25 Juche 108 (2019) – With deep grief at heart, we announce that on Thursday, April 25, 2019, the honorary chairman and former chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association comrade RSDr. Jaroslav Kafka (born March 27, 1943), passed away.
He was a longtime member of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and the Communist Party of Bohemia and Moravia and was one of the founders and leaders of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association.
In 1984, he was one of the guides to the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung during his visit to the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and in 1988 he met with Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung during the visit of the Czechoslovak party and state delegation in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Comrade Jaroslav Kafka surrendered from the post of the chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association in June 2018 for health reasons.

He was a holder of the Order of Friendship 1st class.
The exploits of comrade Jaroslav Kafka for the friendship with the heroic Democratic People’s Republic of Korea will live forever.
The Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association expresses its sincere condolences to all bereaved.

Respected Supreme Leader Comrade KIM JONG UN’s Policy Speech

Pyongyang, April 14 Juche 108 (2019) (KCNA) – Respected Supreme Leader Comrade Kim Jong Un made the policy speech “On Socialist Construction and the Internal and External Policies of the Government of the Republic at the Present Stage” at the First Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea on April 12.

Its full text is as follows:

 

Dear Deputies,

The First Session of the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea is convened at a time when the prestige and strength of our Republic advancing along the road of independence are being demonstrated to the full and its socialist construction has entered a very important period.

As the election to the 14th Supreme People’s Assembly was held successfully amid the high political enthusiasm of all the people and with their active participation and the government of the Republic was reorganized, our State power has been further consolidated and the revolutionary advance of our people, who, united with one mind and will around the Workers’ Party of Korea and the government of the Republic, are marching confidently towards a higher goal of socialism, will be further accelerated.

I extend my heartfelt thanks to all the Deputies for having placed, on behalf of all the people, great trust in me so that I would continue to lead the overall work of the State as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of our glorious country, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea; and I pledge myself to work with devotion for the development and prosperity of the Republic and the happiness of our people.

DPRK maintains its socialist nature, culture and ideology as the island of socialism and the beacon of communism

Recently, the eyes of the world have faded into the Korean Peninsula, where the atmosphere of confrontation is being released, and steps are being taken to the reunification of Korea. Two historic meetings took place between the respected Supreme Leader of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the south Korean President. There is also a consolidation of relations with the United States.

It should be noted that these steps could only be achieved thanks to the leniency of the DPRK, a nuclear power, which has to be recognized by the world’s largest imperialist power.

The Korean people have suffered for nearly seven decades of dividing because the imperialist United States of America interfere into the affairs of the Korean nation. Since the struggle for peace is one of our most important goals, we welcome this effort, but at the same time, we must remind that the imperialists wish to take control of the DPRK without a single shot, in order to promote their interests, as they did it for example in former Czechoslovakia. That is why the Korean people must prevent the penetration of the decadent and shrewd imperialist ideology and culture into the DPRK.

Statement of the 16th plenary meeting of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association

Prague, June 16, Juche 107 (2018) – The 16th plenary meeting of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association was gathered at a time when significant changes in the international relations of the People’s Democratic Republic of Korea and strengthening of its position in the world took place.
Growing support for the politics of the Respected Supreme Leader Comrade Kim Jong Un and the Workers Party of Korea in the World and building its own strong and highly organized and modern military equipment of the DPRK’s national defense forces the US and its vassals to address the Korean Peninsula issue not by military intervention but by negotiating settlement in this area. The solution is not by means of a war conflict, but by the peace process that the DPRK has been seeking since its inception.

Honorary chairman of Paektusan Association comrade Jiří Jarka passed away

Dear comrades,

on the eve of the Day of the Shining Star I have sad responsibility to inform you that the honorary chairman of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association comrade Jiří Jarka passed away suddenly on February 7, Juche 107 (2018) at the age of 88.

Comrade Jarka was co-founder of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association (registered by the Ministry of interior of the Czech republic in 1999), its former chairman, later honorary chairman.

He was born on April 15, 1929 (the Day of the Sun). He served as a pilot of the Czechoslovak People’s Army and reached the rank of Major. In the second half of the 1980s he served as the military attaché of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. He was a longtime member of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and a holder of several high state decorations of the DPRK. Číst dál →
