18th plenary meeting of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association was held

The 18th plenary meeting of the Paektusan Czech-Korean Friendship Association was held in Prague on Saturday, June 19, 2021.

The meeting began with the anthems of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

Chairman Comrade RSDr.  Jozef Servista at the beginning of his speech welcomed the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Comrade PhDr. Ju Won Chol and III. Secretary of the Embassy ​​Comrade Ri Kyong Son. He evaluated the history and activities of the organization, marked in the period since the 17th plenary session (June 8, 2019) by the coronavirus pandemic, due to which most of the planned events had to be canceled.

 

 

He also mentioned development in socialist Korea, which has been successful in building and defending socialism despite natural disasters, the unfavorable international situation and the hostile policies of the south Korean leadership.

He condemned the sanctions against the DPRK and called for an end to the occupation of south Korea and the conclusion of a peace treaty. He praised the work of activists of Czech-Korean friendship, some of whom are unfortunately no longer with us.

Ambassador Comrade PhDr. Ju Won Chol thanked the Paektusan Association for actively promoting the reality of the DPRK, the struggle and efforts of the Korean people to build socialism, reunify their homeland and ensure peace in the region and the world. He said that last year’s natural disasters caused food shortages, but that industrial production in the first half of this year increased by 25 % compared to the first half of last year. The 8th Congress of the Workers’ Party of Korea has approved a new five-year plan, and all the people are fighting for its fulfillment under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Un.

The just-concluded 3rd Plenum of the 8th Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea outlined new foreign policy guidelines to prepare for dialogue and confrontation with the United States, which did not end with a hostile policy towards the DPRK. It is ready for all international challenges.

 

 

Comrade Ambassador also commemorated the 57th anniversary of the beginning of the party work of Comrade Kim Jong Il, who strengthened the party as the real leading force of society and further developed Korean socialism. Comrade Kim Jong Un has continued his work for the past decade, devoting all his efforts to the well-being of the people. He promotes that the members of the party are always among the people and that the party serves the common people. That is the strength of the Workers’ Party of Korea.

Comrade Ambassador thanked Paektusan Association for its support and solidarity and wished its members good health and an early end to the pandemic.

Treasurer Comrade Ing. Pavel Rejf presented a report on economy.

First Vice-Chairman Comrade Lukáš Vrobel presented two hundred photographs, mainly from the Korean media, of the most important events of the last two years in the DPRK and Czech-Korean friendship.

 

 

The 18th plenary unanimously adopted a statement expressing support for the heroic people of socialist Korea in fulfilling the conclusions of the 8th Party Congress and the tasks of the new Five-Year Plan, and supporting the DPRK’s fair efforts for independent peaceful reunification of Korea and an independent international policy. The statement rejected the interference of foreign forces in Korean affairs, the occupation of south Korea and surrounding territories, aggressive military exercises and all sanctions, threats and defamatory campaigns against the DPRK.

The discussion focused on the importance of the Juche idea, strong self-defense, ongoing negotiations with the United States and the ongoing hostile policies of US imperialists, relations with south Korea dominated by US occupiers and the issue of reunification, the importance of self-sufficiency and environmental protection or sports talent training. Speakers appreciated the importance of central planning and collectivism and the free allocation of housing and household needs to the people. They condemned the subversive activities of the capitalist countries aimed at the counter-revolution in the DPRK and praised the Workers’ Party of Korea resolute struggle against this threat.

During the discussion, the participants were acquainted with the development and traffic of the company’s website and its presentation on social networks.

Committee member Roman Blaško presented a motion for a resolution, which was adopted unanimously.

The plenary session ended with the International.

Brochures with works by great leaders in Czech and Russian, “Pektusan” magazines and Korean postage stamps were available to plenary participants.
